Tiger Woods is everywhere in the news and the bad guys didn’t stay inactive of course. Let’s thus enter a few keywords in Google and go for a hunt after some fake antivirus scanners or worse.
A Google search for “Tiger Woods accident rumors” reveals quite some results and on the second page we can already spot 2 dodgy links. Reading the snippets should already make you suspicious because they don’t really reflect a complete paragraph but instead we notice bits of sentences, keywords, tags … something typical for those websites as they need a maximum of keywords to escalate Google search results. |

Google Anti-Malvertising research powered by B.I.S.S.
Resulting from the extensive malware research done by our dedicated admin Kimberly into malware distributed through many of the leading advertising networks, including the new wave of exploits being delivered via flash files, we are pleased to find that B.I.S.S. has been added to the new Google Anti Malvertising search engine as a valuable information resource.
Malvertizing has become the new favourite vector of attack from malware crime groups, by tricking online advertising companies into displaying specially crafted flash ads designed to target users and hijack them based on their specific geo location and time zone, making these hijacks even harder to catch and very lucrative.
Unfortunately most online advertisers are unprepared and clueless about detecting malicious ads before unleashing them on their network, others are only interested in the money and don't check at all.
Malvertising = malware + advertising.
This is a custom search engine intended to help ad network customers conduct quick background checks on prospective partners. This search engine checks independent, third party sites that track possible attempts by parties to use ads to install malware..
