I have been doing some more research on the two Google Custom Searches I ran into the other day and I have been in communication with Google about that also. First a small intro about Google Custom Search if you don’t mind, otherwise feel free to skip it.AdSense for search allows website publishers to provide Google web and site search to their visitors, and to earn money by displaying Google ads on the search results pages.From Google Adsense. The owner of the Google Adsense will get paid if people click on their ads. Adsense has a rather strict policy of what can be done and not. In addition to that, Custom Search has specific policy too. AdSense for search: A maximum of two Google AdSense for search boxes may be placed per page. Also, a single link unit or a search box, but no other Google ads, may be placed on pages with AdSense for search results. Queries must originate from users inputting data directly into the search box and cannot be modified. This includes pre-populating the search box with terms or hard-coding direct links to search results pages. AdSense for search code may not be integrated into any software application such as a toolbar.From Google Adsense Support. So at least one of the two custom searches *should* normally be in violation with this particular restriction as the search box was pre-populated with “Rachel Uchitel pictures”. Two other clauses did catch my attention while reading the TOS at the Google website earlier today. What are URL patterns and how do I use them? The maximum number of refinements per search results page is 16.From Google Adsense Support. I honestly think that Google should amend the 2 statements above as they favour the bad guys IMHO. They actually use a custom search box to display even more bad links leading to all sorts of misery you don’t really want to visit because they did enter the keywords themselves so that a maximum of bad pages would show up in the results and they are making money out of it too. Now back to some more bad websites and links so that everyone can update their blocking software. The first results showing up in the Google Custom Search, to which I will now further refer as GCS, are hosted at www.docstoc.com. A Google search earlier revealed at least 751 dodgy pages at DocStoc. Luckily for the user most of those links were disabled already by the folks at DocStoc. The document "Watch Rachel Uchitel Tiger Wood’s Mistress Free Video Stream’s, rachel uchitel pictures,rachel uchitel, rachel uchitel pics, rachel uchitel photos, tiger woods affair, rachel uchitel griffin" is no longer available on docstoc.Dancho Danchev has a nice write-up about the incident btw. UPDATED: DocStoc has removed all the participating profiles and their documents.It’s not entirely true as I was able to follow the links as seen below from at least two search results. New profiles and pages are probably constantly setup by the malware writers.
